In January of 2015, my partner and I decided we needed to change the way we were living: and get back into the bushwalking that we loved when we lived in Tasmania. Now in Melbourne, and at the start of this story also without a car, we went looking for Victorian options for walking, accessible by public transport.
This blog is my attempt to document our journeys so that I don’t forget, but some of this might also be useful to others, visitors to Victoria, new residents like us, or anyone looking for easy access camping, hiking and nature exploration.
I also have an embroidery blog, here: pardalote makes.
Hi Michelle, glad you decided to follow me, cause now I have found you! Love your site, with so much good information. Look forward to checking out more of your posts. It’s refreshing to find an uncluttered blog site, but still packed with good stuff. Thankyou ๐

Hi Leah! Thanks for your kind words ๐ Your blog is a treasure for me, as someone who’s just started looking around the Victorian wild spaces – Arthur’s Seat is now very high on my list! Thank YOU for sharing your experiences (and I hope you enjoy the Overland track!)

We love visiting Melbourne so getting some “inside” info on hikes and other things to see and do in the region is going to be great for us too – a win win ๐
